The CARN 2025 Conference will take place at the University of Klagenfurt, from 13th to 15th of November 2025.
Abstract: The current global ecological, social and economic crises pose major challenges for people and societies. The COVID pandemic and current military conflicts have left their mark on societies. Human communication is increasingly being experienced in front of a screen. Digitalisation has found its way into all areas of life, which brings opportunities but also challenges. The pressure to make decisions is increasing. Against this backdrop, participative, reflective research and development approaches are taking on new significance and value. What is the potential of action research for overcoming current challenges?
Contributions from the entire spectrum of action research in a variety of intervention contexts (education, social work, community development, the arts and others) are invited. Conceptual and theoretical positions, reflected experiences and research results are welcome. In addition to papers and symposia, workshops that involve participation and creative approaches will be particularly appreciated.
